Privacy policy

Draft text — pending legal review before launch.
1. What we collect
Account details (name, username, email or phone number, password hash), your profile and any photo you upload, the content you post, votes, bookmarks, follows, reports and appeals, and your notification and email preferences. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive the basic profile details you allow them to share. If you ask for expert verification, you may submit proof of your profession. We also collect basic technical data such as IP address and device/browser description for security and rate-limiting. We do not collect your precise location.
2. How we use it
To run the community, keep it safe (moderation, abuse prevention), send notifications and digests you ask for, verify your account by email or SMS code, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal data. We process your data to provide the service you signed up for, with your consent where you give it (for example notifications), and for our legitimate interests in security and preventing abuse.
3. Automated moderation
We may use automated tools, including AI services, to flag posts that may break the rules. Where an AI provider is used, the text is first stripped of email addresses, phone numbers and ID-like numbers. Automated tools can only hold content for a person to review; a moderator makes the decision to remove it.
4. Who can see it
Your name, username, profile and posts are visible to other members, and public posts can also be seen by people without an account and may appear in search engines. Your email and phone number are private. Moderators can see reports and the moderation history needed to enforce the rules. If you post anonymously, other members and most staff cannot see who you are, but the account is recorded and authorised administrators can reveal the author when there is a reason, such as serious abuse. Each reveal needs a stated reason and is logged.
5. Who we share it with
We use service providers to run the platform, such as hosting, email and SMS delivery, push notifications, Telegram notifications if you link Telegram, Google or Facebook sign-in if you use it, and Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. They may process data only to provide those services. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of users or the platform.
6. Cookies and local storage
We store a sign-in token and your language and theme choices in your browser so the site works as you expect. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
7. How long we keep data
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Application logs that may contain IP addresses are kept for about 14 days. Proof documents for expert verification are deleted 30 days after a decision. Moderation records are kept for [period to be confirmed before launch] to enforce the rules and handle appeals.
8. Security
Passwords are stored as hashes and data is protected in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach is likely to affect you seriously, we will tell you.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data on servers outside Cambodia. Where that happens, we expect them to protect it appropriately.
10. Children
The service is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children and will delete it if we learn we have.
11. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, sign out of devices, change your email or password, manage notifications, and delete your account from Settings. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to stop processing it, or to withdraw your consent, by contacting us below.
12. Deleting your account
Deleting your account removes your profile, linked sign-in accounts, phone number, bookmarks, follows, push subscriptions and notifications, and the contact details on your listings. Posts and comments remain, shown as "Deleted user". We may keep limited records where needed for security, abuse prevention or legal reasons.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
14. Contact
Questions or requests about your data: contact the platform team (contact address to be added before launch).
